- Physical characterization: it is like climate, landforms, plant and animal life.
- Human characterization: language, way of life, and places.
- Physical system: glaciers shapes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and volcanoes.
- Human system: it is how people shaped the world.
- Cartographers: are mapmakers that use formulas to transfer the information.
- Latitude: are parallel lines the circle the earth parallel to the equator. There are 180 lines of latitude.
- Longitude: are meridians that circle the earth from pole to pole. There are 360 lines of longitude.
- Prime Meridian: runs through the Greenwich, in England.
- Physical maps: show the landforms, elevation and locations.
- Political maps: show the borders, city and their capitals.
- Equator: an imaginary line that runs around the earth and it divided it into two halfs.
- Elevation: is the height of land above the sea level.
- Cliff: steep rock or ice.
- Island: is a land that is surrounded by water.
